The Veneto Region owns 99.53% of Sistemi Territoriali S.p.A. The
Company operates in four sectors:
• Rail transport: holding the licence and safety certificate
for these activities and using its own means, the company operates
in both passenger and goods transportation.
• Management and maintenance of navigable waterways: Sistemi Territoriali
has been given the task of managing and maintaining navigable waterways
by the Veneto Region, particularly the Fissero-Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po
Brondolo river system that links the Adriatic and the port of Chioggia
to Mantua and Cremona via Porto Levante, the internal port and Rovigo
Interporto.
• IT operations: on behalf of the Region it has instituted and manages
a data bank to issue boat registration numbers in real time to authorise
navigation on the Venice Lagoon.
• Logistics Operations: through Nord Est Logistica S.r.l., it has
constructed and is now managing two logistics warehouses (16,000
sqm and 6,200 sqm). Through Veneto Logistica S.r.l., it has built
two logistics warehouses in the Interporto di Rovigo area (8,000
sqm each).
The company's development programme is mainly based on the upgrading
of the transportation of people and goods. The terminal service in
the ports of Venice and Chioggia will be improved, as well as those
in the areas of Rovigo and Venice . Major investments are being made
to upgrade and bring the navigable waterways into line with CEMAT class
V and to set up of a logistics structure at Porto Levante that can
operate in three modes: river/ maritime, rail and road |
