What is it?
The Venetian Logistics Cluster is a system that includes more general
transportation and logistics services that are provided both by private
operators and public entities: 263 companies with more than 30.000 employees,
1.3 billion Euro of turnover, 11 million square metres of fully equipped
warehousing space and 85 million tons of freight moved each year.
The Venetian
Logistics Cluster was set up in 2006 after the merger of three logistics
clusters: Verona , Padua and Venice-Treviso.
The offering
Thanks to the harbour infrastructure, the interports and the international
airports, the Venetian Logistics Cluster is able to offer a full range
of integrated services, with the contribution of leading players in the
field of international shipping, freight handling and door-to-door distribution.
An
offering that is designed to satisfy the logistics chain for all types
of goods and good shipping units, including services such as storage, re-packaging,
customs clearance of goods and a variety of intermediary services.
Where is it situated?
Located in the heart of Europe, at the northernmost tip of the Adriatic
Sea, the Venetian Logistics Cluster is able to rely on the Venice Harbour,
which is just a few days' sailing from the Suez Canal, thus representing
the most direct route into the centre of Europe and a crossroads for the
Trans-European Transportation Axes.

The hinterland
The hinterland of the Venetian Logistics Cluster, which includes the Northeastern
portion of Italy , Bavaria and Austria , is the wealthiest regions of the
European Union, with 9.7 % of the European population and 13.6% of its Gross
Domestic Product.
In particular, the Italy 's Northeast, the area where the
Venetian Logistics Cluster is situated , represents 1,300,000 companies (equivalent
to 28% of all Italian companies), 31% of the national Gross Domestic Product
and 55% of Italy 's import-export trade to and from China . The value of
the business trade between the North-East of Italy and China now exceeds
10.110 billion Euro
